About the Artist

Hi y'all. My name is Monica Barrera, and I am a Dallas based working artist and elementary art teacher. I have an extensive background in fine arts. I attended Booker T Washinging Highschool for the Performing and Visual Arts, have a BFA in printmaking, and a masters degree in art education. I am classically trained in printmaking, drawing, painting, and sculpture. In recent years I've become obsessed with learning about and creating fiber art. I hope my artwork brings you as much joy as I had creating it.
